Africa Alive!

Quite a while ago now I visited Africa Alive with my friends Sabrina and Hannah and I have only just got around to putting together the photos I took during the day out.

Africa Alive Suffolk

Africa Alive is a walking safari set across 100 acres in Lowestoft, Suffolk and is roughly 40 minutes away from where I live so not too far to travel for a day out.

My favourite part of Africa Alive was the ring tailed lemur exhibit. You can walk around with them, and Sabrina was pounced on multiple times which had me in fits of giggles. I managed to catch this on camera, you've been framed anyone?

There are so many animals here ranging from Meerkats to Guinea Pigs! I had a reallly fun day out and felt like I had walked miles by the end of the day. I am thankful we had nice weather for it.

Colchester Zoo Day Out!

A year ago to the day of 8/09/14 and my boyfriend met properly for the first time. He took me to Thrigby Hall, and we had a really nice time. I talked about this briefly in my First Dates post. This year to mark the occasion we decided to go a bit further afield and visit Colchester Zoo, which is also significantly larger in area. As we were traveling all that way, we decided to make a few days of it.

I booked my tickets online via the website  to save 5% off the price on the door. It was really simple to do and all we had to do when we got there was type our booking code into a machine to get our tickets.

I love going to the zoo and I absolutely love taking photos of animals, you can get some really funny shots, I am sure you will know which ones I am referring to as you scroll down. I took hundreds of photos, but I have picked out a few of my favourites.

I love watching the shows and Colchester Zoo had loads of different things going on such as watching then animals get fed, and meeting the zoo keepers so there was always something to go and watch.

I love how interactive this zoo is compared to others I have been to! For no extra cost we got to feed the giraffes and the elephants which was an amazing experience.

My boyfriend let me borrow his camera lens so I was able to get some really detailed photos from far away. I don't know a lot about cameras, but I now totally want (ok, NEED) a new lens as the difference was phenomenal.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my day at Colchester Zoo!

Day out in Cambridge.

A few months ago now, me and my boyfriend visited Cambridge for a couple of days. I’ve been a few times before for various reasons but never for a day out. We started the day in the centre of Cambridge, and had a nice walk around the town and a picnic by a river. If the weather was nicer we would have perhaps went punting but it was freezing and not many people were on the river. We then visited the Cambridge Botanical Gardens and had a walk around. It was really pretty and I got some lovely photos.

We then stayed over the night, and had a meal in one of the shopping centres at a Bella Italia which was nice. The next day we headed to Shepreth Wildlife Park which was a short drive away. It was a small zoo and they didn’t have loads of animals so we managed to make our way round quite quickly. The weather wasn’t the nicest either so a lot of the animals were tucked away. I would like to visit Cambridge again in the summer months and perhaps take advantage of the more touristy things, so that’s something I hope to do in the future!

First Dates - First Post.

Wow, I can’t believe it’s coming up to the year anniversary of me and my boyfriend’s first ‘date’. He took me to the zoo to "show me how to use my camera" after we had been speaking online for months before that and the rest they say is history! We've been together 9 months now and I have nothing but fabulous memories, all starting from the day we met.

I am looking forward to visiting many other places together.
