December 2015 Glossybox

I was really looking forward to this month’s box, especially as it’s the rose gold edit and I love rose gold. The box is beautiful and Christmassy and in collaboration with Really Ree - a blogger I have only recently had the pleasure in discovering! This month we got 6 items which impressed me and was a nice little Christmas bonus.

December Glossybox Review

Etre Belle – Golden Skin Caviar eye Roll on – Full Size £30.66
This product aims to sooth and hydrate the delicate skin around the eyes. It is quite an expensive product, not one I would go out and buy myself. I really like the feeling that this produces, it really does make my eyes feel fresh and I am loving putting this on in the morning just to wake my eyes up. The roll on contains a cooling gel which is so nice and great for the party season to widen tired eyes! Lovely product but a little bit too expensive for me to repurchase.

So Susan – Statement Skin Highlighter Pencil – Full Size £15
I own a few So Susan products now and one thing I love is the exciting fun packaging. This pencil is a lovely colour and perfect for adding a bit of highlight around your cheekbones and along the bridge of your nose. I love that this product glides on smoothly and doesn’t drag on the skin. It is easy to bled out with your finger or a beauty blender to achieve a natural glow. I don’t own any other product like this so it was a welcome addition to this month’s box.

Cheeky – Chat Me Up Nail Paint – Crush On You – Full Size £7
I love the name of this nail varnish, it’s fun and flirty. The colour I received is called Crush On You and is a baby pink colour. This isn’t a colour I own and is probably a little bit too light for me but I love the formula. You only need to apply 2 coats to get a nice even coverage and the finish is glossy and smooth. I think I’ll save this one for the summer, it would look great with a nice tan.

Cheeky Nail Paint

Philosophy – Purity Made Simple 3 in 1 Cleanser – Full Size £18
I do love trying new cleansers but nothing beats my Liz Earle. I haven’t tried this cleanser before so I was interested to see how it worked. Massage the product into damp skin and it removes all signs of any makeup that may have been on the skin. This deep cleans! Even after wiping my makeup off with a face wipe this continued to get rid of excess grime that I couldn’t even see. I really like this, I will consider buying the full sized product when I ran out.

Philosophy Purity Cleanser

Essence – Liquid Lipstick – Show off – Full Size £2.50
For £2.50 I didn’t have high hopes for this product. I do own some items from the essence range and I often find that you do get what you pay for. The packaging was lost on me, it’s a gloss but the bottle is made to look like it’s a lipstick. I didn’t even notice this, my boyfriend actually noticed when I was taking the photos for it. The applicator is good for applying this precisely but for me this product simply didn’t deliver how I wanted it to. I found the formula quite sticky and could see myself getting my hair stuck in it if I went outside. It’s a lovely colour that can be worn by everyone and I think some people would really benefit from this but it’s not one I’ll be using religiously.

Essence Liquid Lipstick

Starskin – Bio-Celluloise Second Skin Mask – Full Size £8.50
This was our bonus item for this month and I couldn’t wait to relax and try this out. I was a bit cautious as my skin has been reacting to products lately but this was fine. The serum was really lovely and left my skin feeling so hydrated afterwards. I want to try out all of the different masks now! It’s a shame I don’t live near a Selfridges to pick some up.

September 2015 Glossybox

Another month has passed and it’s Glossybox time, just what I was looking forward to receiving to brighten my month now that the nights are drawing in and Autumn is in full swing. Once again Glossybox have spoiled us with five full-sized products! I could get used to this treatment. Another great box, really glad I am subscribed right now. Onto the products…

October Glossybox Review

So Susan – Highlighting Pencil – Full Size £15
This pencil has a light peach hue and can be used in a number of ways. You can use this as a highlighting pencil along your brow bone, down your nose, in the waterline of your eyes and even on your cheek bones. When I first swatched this it felt a bit waxy for my liking and didn’t have the greatest of smells. If you can get past that, it’s a really lovely product. My favourite place to use it is in the waterline of my eyes, it really makes them pop and they look bigger and brighter. I can’t wait to experiment further with this.

Talika – Photo Hydra-Day – Full Size £24.85
I didn’t realise how expensive this product was until I was typing this up! This is definitely a luxury item, I don’t think I have ever spent that much on a moisturiser before. I love that this product has very little scent, I hate scented moisturisers. This applies really smooth on the skin and sinks in without making your face feel sticky. The cream is soothing, and also acts as a great primer. I’ve been applying this in the mornings where I need a little skin boost and I have really noticed a difference in how my skin feels to touch.

Talika Review

Lanolips – 101 Ointment – Full Size £7.99
I haven’t heard of this brand before, despite being available in Boots which I visit frequently. This multi-use ointment is made from 100% pure lanolin and guarantees to keep your skin nourished. I’m not a fan of how this feels on my lips, but after using this on dry areas of my skin I have grown to love how fast it hydrates dry areas. I’m interested to see how others have been using this product so if you have any ideas, please let me know.

Jelly Pong Pong – Play Paint – Full Size £8.95
I love this multi-use product. I received the colour damson which looked really bright but this product is so buildable and if you only use a tiny amount then it’s really subtle. I first tried this product on my lips, you literally need the smallest amount so this really is going to last. It tastes really nice, so nice that I was afraid to use it anywhere else in case it gave off a scent. I then popped some on my cheeks and blended it out with the Nicka K blending sponge and this gave me a really nice glow, so nice that when I didn’t wear it, I got told I looked pale! Really enjoy this, would love to try some other colours if they are available.

Jelly Pong Pong Review

Nicka K – Airbrush Blending Sponge – Full Size £6.50
I have always wanted to try a blending sponge but it’s just one of those things that I never seem to pick up. The shape is really good, the smaller end is great for getting around the eye and in nooks and crannies, and the larger end is great for buffing foundation over the larger areas of your face. You have to wet the sponge and then squeeze the excess water out before use. I found that I needed to use a little bit more foundation than usual with this, but I got a much nicer coverage compared to using a brush. I feel like this gave me a flawless finish and it was also great for buffing in the Jelly Pong Pong Play Paint!

Next month we have a Glossybox first, we get to choose which colour item we receive, and it’s a Revlon lipstick! I can’t wait for November!

February 2015 Glossybox

I received this month's Glossybox a couple of weeks ago and couldn't wait to take photos and review the products. Unfortunately, as I was going through the card and checking out what everything was I realised I was missing an item. I emailed Glossybox customer service team and within 5 minutes I received a response to say a replacement was in the post. Really great customer service. This is the first problem I have ever encountered with Glossybox in my 3+ years of being with them but I was really impressed with the turn-around. I also REALLY liked this month's box design!

Wilkinson Sword Hydro Silk - Full Size £9.99
A razor was not what I expected to see in my Glossybox but I can see how it relates to the love edition as some of us like to be smooth and silky. This razor is said to hydrate skin for up to 2 hours after shaving. I usually just use disposables so this was a lot nicer to use than my usual 5 for £1 razors. I may consider buying refills for this and upgrading my routine!

So Susan - Rose Quartet Lip & Cheek Palette - Full Size £8
I love the outer packaging for this it's just a shame the inside isn't as exciting and pretty. I'm not a fan of the brush that came with this set and won't be using that. I'm not the biggest fan of using crème blushers either as they make my face feel a bit sticky but I like this for the lips. The shades seem vibrant but colour pay off is subtle.

Essie Repstyle Polish - Full size £9.99
I really like these magnetic style nail polishes and own a few of the Barry M ones. Not usually a colour I would wear but I really like the scaly reptile effect of this. Oh and the love hearts were a nice touch this month.

Royal Apothic Tinties - Coral - Full Size $14
Firstly can we just appreciate how gorgeous the packaging is on this lip buter?! I used it right away. The butter is really nourishing and has a nice coral tint to it. The colour quickly wore away but my lips were left feeling smooth for a few hours after. This is almost too nice to put in my handbag and needs to be displayed on show!

MARSK Mineral Eyeshadow - Fifty Shades - Full Size £14.49
I received this a few days later as originally this was missed out of my box but Glossybox were very quick to replace it. Aptly named 'Fifty Shades' this shimmery grey eyeshadow is actually really nice. It's easy to blend on the eyelid, the only problem I had was getting it out of the pot. I wore this across the eyelid and it lasted all day which I was impressed about. Perfect with a darker colour in the crease for a grey smokey eye.

Bellápierre Cosmetics Super Gloss in Clementine Citrus
A bonus item, thank you Glossybox. This was sent to me with the MARSK eyeshadow replacement, I thought that was really nice and again I am really impressed with Glossybox customer service. Not only did they respond to my query within 5 minutes, my new item was sent to me literally 2 days later so I don't feel like I've missed out.

October 2014 Glossybox

This month’s Glossybox is probably one of my favourite designs yet! I absolutely love the pop-art theme. I had avoided pretty much all spoilers this month too which was a bonus so the box was a complete surprise (except for the Nuxe Paris Mask). The only problem I had was there was no info sheet as Glossybox are trialing a paperless card (Bit of extra effort on my part finding it as it was poorly advertised) so I had to Google the products to find out how to use them/prices etc which was quite annoying.

Ciaté London Paint Pot
This full sized product in my box is this lovely nail varnish from Ciate. I believe the colour is called  Snow Virgin worth £9. For some reason, mine doesn’t have the little bow like some of the others I have seen! This white colour looks a bit plain on its own but I can picture myself using this alongside other colours to create some Christmas nails! I also test painted a nail and it lasted really well and stayed chip free for longer than my other nail varnishes.
Être Belle Cosmetics Lip lift Peel
I have never owned a product like this before but it has quickly become a part of my daily routine. The scrub brushes away any dead skin on the lips and leaves the perfect base to apply lipstick onto. My matte lipsticks now glide on. I don’t know how I have coped without a product like this before and it is perfect for these colder months where my lips are that little bit drier.

So Susan Cosmetics Flutter Mascara
This mascara didn’t really do anything for me unfortunately. It was no better than the one I currently use at less than half the price. I did enjoy the packaging though, I think it looks really sleek and expensive but the product just wasn’t for me.

Rimmel London BB Cream Matte
I have actually got a full sized one of these which I love to use in the summer, but for the colder weather I prefer having something with a bit more coverage. The colour match is spot on for me, and I might keep this in my bag for touch-ups throughout the day. The size is quite small so won’t last me long, but at the same time I don’t really use BB creams this time of the year anyway.

Yves Rocher - Quelques Notes D’AmourI quite like the cute little bottle that this perfume sample came in. The scent is really nice, quite summery though which is a bit of a shame as I am not transitioning onto more autumnal scents and trying to find a new perfume for this season. It will get used up though all the same! These are great to put in your handbag (as long as the lid is firmly in place!).

Nuxe Crème Fraîche De Beauté Mask
I knew that this would be in my box this month due to the spoilers we received last month, and I can’t say it’s a product I’ve ever tried before. This mask is supposed to soothe  any irritations and leave your skin feeling moisturised for up to 24 hours. I put this mask on my skin, left it for 10 minutes then rubbed what was left of it in. I couldn’t believe that the thick layer I had applied had completely soaked into my skin! That’s what I loved about this mask; the fact there was no need for it to be removed. I applied this in the evening and my skin was still lovely and soft the next day.

This month’s box also contained a spoiler for the November box -. I think Glossybox is going to have to start getting really amazing or I might be dropping it next year so I can just buy my usual products.
