My Purrfect Gift Box - August*

Once again My Purrfect Gift Box couldn’t have come at a better time and I always have a great smile on my face when I see the vibrant purple box waiting for me on my door step. As I have mentioned before and want to mention again, when you buy this box a portion of the subscription costs goes to support UK cat charities, rescue centres and animal shelters. So while you are giving to yourself, know you are giving to the cats that need us across the UK. I think that is such a lovely gesture. This month’s box was all about 'A Day In The Park' celebrating the end of summer, warm nights and love/romance.

The first item I received was this gorgeous bangle with 3 pendants. It comes complete with a ‘C’ for cat, but as my name begins with a C I was even more excited to receive and wear this lovely piece of jewellery as a cat lover. The moon stone charm gives the bracelet a pop of colour and I have received a few compliments from wearing this already.

I then received these cat face lights. I am currently decorating my cats bedroom (yes, he has his own room!) and these lights are going to look great in there. These are also battery powered which means you can place them pretty much wherever you like and you’re not restricted to having them near a plug. These lights come from Etsy and retail at £18.95. These are hand painted and you get 20 cat faces on the wire. I think they are fun and really bring something extra to a room!

This peacock/bird shaped cat toy has been well received by my furry friend! Made of felt this toy is handmade and sold on Etsy. I love catnip toys, Biscuit goes crazy for them and for only £3.95 you can’t really go wrong for hours of fun! I love that this box had lots of nice treats for Biscuit in this month.

I love that these Vets Kitchen little heart treats are actually heart shaped. These treats contain natural ingredients and are free from artificial colours and flavourings. Biscuit loves these, I like to give him a couple of treats in the evening and he has been practically launching towards me when he sees me get the packet out of the cupboard.

This cat decal is adorable and also comes from Etsy for just £2.99. I have chosen to place it on my laptop but it could have been applied to a window or even the car. It is removable but not reusable but I am happy with it taking pride of place on my laptop and makes me smile every time I come to use it. I think this is a great gift for a cat lover, I want one for every shiny surface I own!

I have always wanted a cat eared headband but never bought one. I love this accessory and it’s a great addition to my collection – I’m not sure I will wear it out of the house or to work but I am sure I can rock it at home or at a fancy dress party!

This furry heart cat toy is handmade from wool and is just £4 from Paw and Gnaw. Filled with a premium dried catnip centre, Biscuit was drawn to this immediately but thankfully didn’t smell strong to me.

I am in love with this cute print depicting three cats sat on the moon, this will also go perfectly in my cat themed room once I start to get things in place. This comes signed by Etsy designer ACatLikeCuriosity and there are many more prints where this one came from! The prints are really affordable and you can even have your own pet illustrated in cartoon form by the artist which I am extremely tempted by.

What do you think of this box? Would you buy this for a fellow cat lover? Even if you don’t want to subscribe, you can purchase some of the items in the shop.

My Purrfect Gift Box - July*

I apologise this post is up slightly later than I would have liked however since moving house I have been a little pushed for time. My Purrfect Gift Box couldn’t have come at a better time and I was so pleased to see it arrive on my doorstep. As I have mentioned before, I love this box and everything it stands for. I love that when you buy this box a portion of the subscription costs goes to support UK cat charities, rescue centres and animal shelters.  So while you are giving to yourself, know you are giving to the cats that need us across the UK.

The first item I received was a My Purrfect Gift Box exclusive. This gorgeous cat themed cheeseboard has been designed and engraved for the boxes in the Isle of Man. The board is sturdy and feels like it is very good quality. I love that its not too big, you can fit this in your picnic hamper. It also comes with a handy butter spreader, perfect for a lovely summers day out. This cheese board retails at £18.95 and was created by Dalewood Craft Designs.

These gorgeous handmade shatterproof champagne flutes were the perfect accompaniment when popping open a bottle of Prosecco the day we got the keys to our house. I love that the flutes are decorated with a ‘MEOW’ decal down the side. They also have indentations so they are easy to hold and re-usable. These are great for celebrating and you don’t have to worry about any broken glass if things get a bit out of hand! Take them along to picnics and festivals where glass is often banned. These flutes retail at £12.50 but you can purchase them for £5.50 on the Purrfect Gift Box Shop, find out more from Govino.

Another fabulous picnic treat is the delicious chutneys and james made right here in the UK in Yorkshire. Labelled up with the Purrfect Gift Box logo I wasn’t sure where they were from but knowing they are fairly local was brilliant news. These chutneys and jams go great with some crackers or bring them along with your cheese board! I tried both of these and thought they were really tasty! These are available from The Fruity Kitchen and retail at £5 for 2.

These fun summer time napkins are great to pop in your picnic hamper or to use at your BBQ’s this summer. I love anything cat related and the design on these napkins is adorable. As napkins go, these really do the job and will brighten up your events and meals. These retail at £2.99.

This month’s box included some lovely cat treats too, so Biscuit was happy! The first item was some Lily’s Kitchen Cat Food. Their organic cat food recipes are nutritious complete meals, grain free and have a very high organic fresh meat content. Biscuit isn’t usually fussy when it comes to food but he really did enjoy this one. I would love to get him some of the other flavours as I love feeding him healthy foods.

This next item is a catnip flower from 4cats which really did smell strong. This toy smelt so strong that I had to shut it away when Biscuit wasn’t playing with it! He really did enjoy this toy, to the point where if I wanted him to come indoors I used this scent to draw him in!

This mini catnip pillow from Cleo & Milo is handmade and adorable. It doesn’t take up too much space, doesn’t smell strong to me but Biscuit loves it and I often find him cuddled up to it at night!

What do you think of this box? Would you buy this for a fellow cat lover?

My Purrfect Gift Box - May*

Last month you may have seen my review on the Purrfect Box and I was very lucky to also receive this month’s offerings.

I cannot stress how much I love this box. I think the Purrfect Gift Box is a fantastic gift idea for cat lovers and a lovely treat for yourself. Every item I received in the box is something I will use and is so unique and I was so happy when I saw this purple box on my doorstep. It’s packed to the brim with amazing cat related items and treats. You can order a one off Standard box including some extra treats for your cat for £34.97, or £29.97 without. Keep reading to see what gorgeous items I received in this box.

The first item I saw when I opened the box was this delicious bar of chocolate which may or may not have been eaten as soon as I finished taking the photo.. Ahem. This chocolate is made here in the UK by Quirky Library and have been personalised with a cat related quote. The chocolate is a smooth milk based one and tasted absolutely divine. They also do other flavours so head over to their website and check them out!

I then saw this gorgeous retro style cat necklace which was wrapped in a nice cardboard sleeve to keep it protected. This is such unique piece and I don’t own anything like it. It’s simply stunning!

All of these necklaces are handmade and vary ever so slightly in design. I love the look of this and the dried flowers give off a great spring/summer vibe. The cat shaped pendant is see-through and would look great against any outfit as it would pick up the colour in the background from your clothing.

This gorgeous purse is purrfect for all of my cards, notes and coins. The monochrome cat  design is adorable and goes with any outfit. The quality of the purse is outstanding, the stitching is very neat and this piece is going to be a handbag essential for me from now on!

This silky grey scarf with a foil gold cat print is perfect for transitioning into summer from spring. There is often a chill in the air in England and this is the perfect accessory to combat the breeze. I love that the design isn’t too overpowering. Its subtle and I think all cat lovers would want one of these in their wardrobe. A lightweight scarf is a classic timeless piece and the grey colour complements all outfit choices.

These adorable buttons are from The Heyday Shop and are also available on etsy. These are included in the standard box and are the perfect quirky little addition to the box. I am currently trying to decide where to put these. You can replace standard buttons with these or sew them on and customise a handbag. Any cat lover would be proud to show these off!

Onto the cat gifts! This bespoke collar is handmade by Lovely Luna Crafts. I did try and get a photo of biscuit wearing it but he is so lazy and fluffy he rolled over and covered up the delicate charm so I thought it worked out better taking a photo this way! This fabric colour is vibrant, has a quick release clasp and an adorable cat charm and bell. Its also adjustable which is great for larger cats like biscuit.

I then received (well, Biscuit did!) some cat treats. Biscuit isn’t fussy with his treats and he loved these. The packet was quite hard to open and he was pawing at my hands to try and get a treat as he could smell them! I would definitely repurchase these as the packaging is fun too. Look at him licking his lips!

The final item in the box, also for Biscuit was this lovely soft colourful fleece blanket handmade in the UK by Tillypops.  I love this fun design and biscuit couldn’t wait to get his paws on here and get settled in! The lady that makes these does so in order to raise awareness and money for Vasculitis UK Myeloma UK. There are plenty of handmade items available, I urge you to go and follow the twitter account to keep updated and see what they have to offer.

There are only a limited number of boxes available each month - so head over to My Purrfect Gift Box now and put your order in to receive the next box. A portion of each of your box subscription goes to support UK cat charities, rescue centres and animal shelters so you’ll be treating yourself all for a good cause. You won’t be disappointed. Are you a cat lover?

My Purrfect Gift Box Review*

As you may be aware from my blog, I am a cat lover. I have one bundle of fluff called Biscuit and he loves the camera so it’s always nice when I can involve him in blog posts. I was recently sent the April box from a brand called My Purrfect Gift Box. This subscription box is the first of its kind, a box for cat lovers! You don’t need to have a cat to take part in this box, just loving cats is enough. The box I received is perfect for Spring and each item shows that. The box is made up of items from around the world including some handmade goodies, keep reading to see what I got.

The box I received had some cat treats which is an optional feature when choosing your box. There is something for every budget and you can either opt for a standard or a lite box. With subscriptions starting at only £15.95 per month, you deserve a treat! Firstly there was an extra treat of a cat toy, some feathers, a bell and some beads on a bouncy metal wire. Biscuit absolutely loved this! He’s 11 years old now so not as playful as he used to be but when I got this out he was bouncing around like a kitten!

Each box comes with a welcome card which is really useful as it explain what items you have received and also gives you the retail price if you’re interested. I love receiving cards like this with subscription boxes as its always handy to see where things came from and that way I can look into individual brands if I want to purchase more.

The first item I saw when I opened my box was this adorable Temporary Tattoo from Siideways. This fun design of a cat and flowers is so cute and dainty and the perfect size to transfer onto your wrist or other small area such as an ankle. I haven’t used mine yet as I am saving it for when the time is right but I really love the design which retails at £3.95. Get 10% off using the below code.

The next item which is perfect for the Spring is these adorable plantable seeded papers in the shape of cats. Each cat is infused with seeds and comes complete with handy instructions to grow some beautiful May flowers. I have planted mine already and I can’t wait to watch them grow. I think these make such a nice gift or would even be perfect for wedding favours at a spring themed wedding don’t you think? You can buy these on Etsy in many different designs, shapes and sizes. These retail at £4.50.

I love this framed print from the artist AmyLyn Birhle available from Etsy. This has been signed by the artist on the back and came complete in this white frame. It’s such an apt piece for spring and I love the cat holding an umbrella. The bright colours in this piece are striking and this looks great in any room of the house. Visit the artists website here.

I also received a FreakMEOWt catnip fish which can be bought on Notonthehighstreet for £4 excluding delivery. This contains super strong catnip, Biscuit was going crazy for this fish! We also received some Green&Wilds Cat Niblets in Plaice flavour. These treats are 100% natural and made right here in the UK. Considering these treats don’t look like the most exciting thing in the world I can’t believe how obsessed Biscuit is by these treats! The website says my local vets stocks these so I’ll have to pick up some more when these run out. They are the only treats that Biscuit has climbed up my shelves for!

The umbrella I received fits right in with the April theme and I cannot tell you how happy I was to receive this. My umbrella broke a few months ago and I haven’t had a chance to replace it. I have been caught in the rain too many times to count and thankfully this umbrella arrived right before the start of the April showers – which seem to be extending themselves to May too! I love the modern and colourful design based on an oil painting - it is sure to turn heads. The quality of this umbrella feels strong and sturdy. The material is of good quality and comes with a matching cover for when its folded down. It fits perfectly (or should that be purrfectly) in my handbag and the bright colours mean it’s easy to find. This retails at £15.99.

The final item in my box was another Etsy find. These cute and colourful pack of notecards each come with an envelope and are blank inside so have multiple uses. The cat themed design was illustrated by Valerie Hart. These retail at £9.99 and can be found on Valerie Hart’s website and Etsy shop.

A portion of each of subscription box goes to support UK cat charities, rescue centres and animal shelters.  So while you are giving a gift yourself, know you are giving to the cats that need us across the UK. I really think this box is a great idea and a lovely treat for either yourself or a cat loving friend! Would you consider purchasing this box?

*I received this box free of charge in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and I was not influenced in any way.

The Bluffer’s Guide to .. Stocking Fillers*

With Christmas drawing closer and closer I am desperately rushing around trying to get all of my shopping finished and top up everyone’s presents with little stocking fillers that really finish a gift off.

When I heard about the range of books available at Bluffers, I was intrigued to find out what they were all about. With more than 5 million copies sold, Bluffers have over 88 titles to choose from. They offer short humorous guides on all sorts of topics which enable you to become an instant expert in that field. Topics range from Food, to Dogs, to Sport and you can find a full list over on their website.

The Bluffer’s Guide to Stocking Fillers

Bluffers very kindly sent me a few of their guides for review, and I think they are great. These are the perfect addition to anyone’s Christmas gift. I received the Bluffer’s Guides to Cyling, Cats and Food, priced at just £6.99 each, or currently you can create your own personalised gift set and pick up 3 for the price of 2 over on their website

The Bluffer’s Guide to Food

The Bluffer’s Guide to Food is my favourite book of the three, and let’s face it – who doesn’t love food?! This book is filled with witty one liners and things even I didn’t know as a food lover. For example, did you know the potato originated from Peru?!

The Bluffer’s Guide to Cycling

The Bluffer’s Guide to Cycling is informative and gives you as much information as you need to be able to bluff your way through a conversation with a keen cyclist. Cyclists love to over-complicate different things but I can now happily say I know the difference between a bonk and a peloton.  Not only is the book funny it will be loved by all.
 The Bluffer’s Guide to Cats

The Bluffer’s Guide to Cats was the first book I looked at and I can guarantee all cat lovers would be over the moon with receiving this on Christmas morning. I flicked through the book to brush on my already strong cat knowledge to become a fully-fledged cat whisperer – no joke.

These small paperbacks are witty and fun and provide you with just the right amount of facts to be able to ‘bluff’ yourself through any encounter with an expert in that field. As well as being really funny, the books do actually provide you with some interesting facts. I would love to receive one of these for Christmas, I can see myself now reeling off facts about Cycling around the turkey on Christmas day, my family bemused wondering where on earth I developed this sudden knowledge.

If you’ve got someone you don’t know what to buy for, then Bluffer’s Guides are great. Pop these on your Christmas shopping list, I guarantee your family and friends will love then, and you won’t want to part with them! Buy now direct from Bluffers or Amazon.

*I received these items free of charge in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and I was not influenced in any way. Please see my disclaimer for more information.
