Games Night Feat. Destination.. Norwich!*

Christmas and New Year is the perfect excuse to get the family round and have a games night. We usually have my Nanny and Grandad round for Scrabble every year so when I was offered the chance to receive the game Destination Norwich I knew it would fit right in with our games night.

Having never played the game before I laid it all out and read through the instructions. Destination Norwich is fun for all the family and the aim of the game is to be the player who earns the most money at the end of your shift as a taxi driver. If you decide to get this game, please be careful when opening the packet with the taxi counters in, I ended up flinging mine across the room haha.

Starting at the taxi rank you must plan your route through Norwich without coming across any obstacles on the way or running out of fuel. Obstacles include traffic lights where you are required to pick up a card. These cards can either be fines and points on your licence, or nice cards such as extra fuel so it really is luck of the draw. The board game is packed with famous landmarks around Norwich such as Castle Museum, Jarrold and Cinema City.

I think if you're from Norwich you will really enjoy this game as it feels very close to home and it's fun recognising the familiar street names. This would make a great gift for people who are local. If you don't know your way around Norwich then you do have to study the board to try and find the correct roads. I live and work in Norwich so luckily didn't find this too much of a problem.

The game is suitable for people aged 6 +. There are a lot of different cards that are in play and once you get the hang of them it's fairly easy to understand. At first we were a bit confused but soon picked it up and got into the swing of things. I recommend having a good read through of the instructions before you begin rather than trying to follow it as you go along. This game suits 6 players. The more players you have, the quicker the duration of the game as you will run out of destinations sooner.

I really enjoyed this game as did the rest of the family and it slotted into games night perfectly. I can't wait to play this game again.

Destination Norwich is available to buy exclusively from Jarrold’s and retails at £24.99. If you're not from Norwich, there are plenty of other cities available over on the Destination Games website.

*I received this game free of charge in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and I was not influenced in any way.
