Purrfect Cat Subscription Box Review*

I love receiving subscription boxes for my pets, there is just something about it that makes me feel good about spending the money because it’s not technically for me. I love the excitement of receiving the box and seeing what is inside, then sharing the goodies with my furry friends. I recently received a Purrfect Box run by the same people who brought me my Pawsome Box for dogs. This time I decided to treat Biscuit my cat, he has just moved in with me so the more treats and things I can get, the better! I am hoping they will all help to settle him in to his new surroundings.

Purrfect Box is a surprise box containing quality products worth over £30 for your cat delivered straight to your doorstep. You can order a gift subscription or subscribe yourself from just £19.90 but you can save money by committing to subscribe for a longer amount of time. The box comes filled with goodies, wrapped in paw print tissue paper.

The first item I received for Biscuit was this Catch Ball. I am not sure if it is filled with catnip or not but Biscuit seemed to enjoy playing with it which leads me to believe it is filled with the good stuff. I think this ball is well designed and good quality. I love the little pop out fish section too.

These Pet Munchies Gourmet Chicken Liver Treats are a favourite in this household and we have bought these before. These treats do have a very strong scent so bare that in mind when cracking these open. I have a specific cupboard set aside for cat treats but if I’d have stored these anywhere else they would have caused a stink! These treats are natural so its always nice to know you're giving your cat some good.

I then saw this Gim Cat Pudding Sachet which is something I haven’t seen before. This liquid substance does not have a strong scent and can be given to your cat by popping this on the end of your finger. Just be careful if your cat bites! My cat is not fussy when it comes to food and really enjoyed this which is a bonus and it won’t go to waste!

Biscuit loves these play and fill mice and is not the first one he has owned. I love seeing the effects of a cat on catnip, it’s great if you want some peace and quiet for a bit whilst they roll around. I felt like the catnip remained strong for a while and is still giving off the same effects after a couple of weeks of using it.

This Bowl is amazing, simply pop it in the freezer and when you come to use it, the water is kept nice and cold. I assume this can also be used for food, but food doesn’t hang around long enough in my house! The bowl is of a reasonable size and can also be used for dogs. This has been great for both the puppy and the cat this summer.

This dangly fish toy has also gone down well with Biscuit, although he does like most toys. I love that you can attach this to your arm or leg and watch TV whilst also playing with your cat with minimal movement. I have proceeded to hang this from the radiator so I don’t even have to move a muscle now whilst the cat has some fun.

What did you think of this box? I think they are great value for such a good variety of treats, toys and accessories. For £5 discount on a Purrfect Box for your cat, use code ukbtkfqt on their website.

The FURminator – It’s Time to Groom!*

You may have seen my fluffy cat Biscuit feature on my blog quite a bit recently so when I was offered the chance to try out some products from FURminator, I jumped at the chance of being able to show Biscuit off again. Biscuit is such a poser and is a domestic long haired ginger cat. His hair is usually everywhere and I am never far from a lint roller.

Firstly, I received the FURminator deShedding tool. This tool is the number one choice when it comes to preventing your pet from shedding hair around the home and was designed by professional groomers.  These premium quality deShedding tools can reduce the level of shedding by up to 90%. The stainless steel de-shedding edge reaches through the topcoat to safely remove loose hair without cutting or damaging your pets skin underneath.

Biscuit found the process quite relaxing and it was nice to get rid of lots of loose hairs that would no doubt end up all over the furniture! Once your have brushed your pet a few times, the de-shedding edge fills with hair. The FURejector button releases the hair with ease making de-shedding easier than ever. The ergonomic handle means this is easy to grip and hold and comfortable to use.

The FURminator deShedding tool is so simple to use as I have demonstrated in this short video below. By grooming your cat you can decrease shedding and reduce hairballs. This also stimulates natural oil production which protects the skin and ensures your cat has a healthy coat. I have definitely noticed that biscuit feels a lot softer since using the FURminator.

I also received the Hairball Prevention Waterless Spray for cats. This helps to reduce hairballs and excess shedding so goes hand in hand with the DeShedding tool. The website states "This proprietary blend of ingredients is formulated specifically for cats to helps reduce loose hair from shedding and effectively reduces hairballs by reducing loose hair ingested by cats associated with self-grooming without bathing". I simply sprayed this onto Biscuit's coat, rubbed it through his fur and then towel dried the remaining moisture.

Overall I am really impressed with these must-have pet products. You can view the full range of FURminator products here and also buy them on Amazon or in pet stores. What do you think?

National Pet Month - Spoling my Cat*

Many of us have pets and if you’re like me then you like to spoil them every now and again. It can often be hard to put aside some money to treat your pets with all the other financial commitments you may have. I am currently house hunting so all of my extra pennies are going towards saving to move at the moment. I was challenged to take part in a campaign by Ocean Loans to celebrate National Pet Month and to treat my pet without worrying about my finances. I think it is fantastic to know if I ever need money in the future then I can turn to Ocean Loans to borrow some much needed cash.

National Pet Month runs from 1st April until 2nd May 2016 and I couldn’t wait to treat Biscuit my cat to some well-deserved goodies! One thing I have always wanted to get Biscuit is a cat bed. He either sleeps on a chair or on my bed but I would love him to have his own dedicated sleeping space, especially when we move out. I ordered a bed from Amazon for £11.50 + p+p in the colour grey which will go with our décor when we move. Biscuit has never had a bed before so I was unsure on how he would take to it but he seems to love it! It’s so soft and the sides fold down easily which allows chubby Biscuit to sit in it however he likes. I did have to encourage him to use it with a bit of Catnip Spray which cost £4.11 + p+p.

I also picked up some treats. Biscuit isn’t fussy and doesn’t mind if he eats supermarket branded treats or well-known brands. I got a selection from Wilko and so far Biscuit has enjoyed everything he has tried!

The final item I got Biscuit was a subscription box from the company Purrfect Box. It’s essentially a Glossybox for cats! Each month you receive a box packed with treats and toys for your cat. It was a complete surprise what was in the box and it was almost like Christmas opening it! It costs £19.90 per month but you can get a cheaper subscription if you commit to a few months upfront. The box contained over £35 worth of items so was definitely worth it. We received some cat treats, sticks, a toy snake, some toy mice, a catnip cushion and a food/water dispenser.. phew! We will definitely get full use out of all this! If you’d like to sign up to Purrfect Box – use code spnkfv6g for £5 off!

Biscuit has well and truly been spoiled all in aid of National Pet Month! So thank you Ocean Loans for allowing me to treat him without worrying about the costs!
