Skincere Cream Cleanser Review*

I love cleansing and usually stay true to my Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser but when I was given the chance to try out the Skincere Cream Cleanser, available at Holland and Barrett, I couldn’t wait to vary my routine.

The Skincere Cream Cleanser is 100% natural. It is ideal for daily use and is great for my sensitive skin and all other skin types. The product is free from wheat, sulphites, nuts, egg, alcohol, milk, gluten and so many more items that could be classed as allergens. I have been massaging this into my dry face and neck each morning and night then rinsing off with warm water and a muslin cloth for the past 3 weeks now and I have really noticed a change in my skin. Even after just a few uses, my boyfriend noticed how soft my skin is and couldn’t stop touching my face which was slightly bizarre. I put it down to using the Skincere Cream Cleanser as I have not added anything else to my skincare routine.

My skin tone seems more even and I have less discolouration on my face and the dry areas I used to have are gone. Skincere also have an eye cream, day cream, night cream and facial serum in their range all available at Holland and Barrett . When used together I imagine you would get great results. The scent of this product is minimal and fresh being fragrance free. It is great at removing all traces of makeup left on my face leaving my skin clean and fresh. You can even store this product ibn the fridge! I think in the summer this will be so refreshing to cleanse with if its cold.

I love how soft my skin feels after introducing this cleanser into my routine and it is a lot more affordable than cleansers I have used in the past and I have achieved excellent results. Have you ever heard of Skincere?

L.A.B.2 Make-up Brush Review*

I love trying new make-up brushes but never want to spend loads of money on them in case I don’t get on with them. When I was offered the chance to try the L.A.B.2 Make-up Brushes, I couldn’t wait to see how they fared against my usual brands.

The strokes of genius set retails at £18.99 - set of 5 must have eye brushes, some of which can be bought separately.

Brow and Eyeliner Brush £5.99
Designed for precise application of all types of eyeliners and brow formulas this angled brush is great for perfecting that perfectly arched brow. The brush hairs are sturdy meaning you can get a great line with these. I use a powder for my brows and this brush picks up just the right amount of product and allows me to apply my brow powder with ease. This has replaced my usual brow brush and I love it.

Crease Brush
This brush is the perfect size and shape for my crease. The brush applies eyeshadow really well and when combined with the eyeshadow brush from the LAB2 range you can create the perfect smoky eye. The soft bristles blend colours together to soften any harsh lines and is a must have for your make-up bag.

Brow and Lash Groomer
This isn’t a brush I have ever reached for before but I really like having this as an addition to my make-up bag. I use this to brush through any clumps of mascara left in my eyelashes and the comb to brush through my eyebrows after filling them in with powder.

Eyeshadow Brush
This brush is very similar to a MAC 217 and is a fluffy but sturdy brush. I use this to apply eyeshadow over my lid and to blend the colour in with the crease colour. This distributes the colour evenly onto your eyelids, crease and brow bone and is a great all-rounder eye brush.

Pointed Eyeliner Brush £5.99
I was a bit nervous to try this with my gel eyeliner as it didn’t feel as stiff as my usual brush but once coated in the gel this worked really well. It reminds me of using a liquid eyeliner pen. The long handle makes this really easy to use and you can create that perfect cat eye flick with ease. The brush enables you to draw a firm even line across your lid and doesn’t drag across your eyelid.

Overall, I really like the look and feel of these brushes. Each brush has its name clearly labelled on the handle so you know what each one is for. The handles are soft and smooth and lovely and comfortable to hold. The brushes are soft and help you to achieve professional results every time. These brushes are made with FiberLuxe Technology, specially designed with the softest and highest quality filaments.

Available from Superdrug, you can find tutorials on how to use these brushes here.

April 2015 Glossybox

Another Glossybox down. I actually really love this months 'The Iconic Edit' box and the theme and I can really see how all of the products tie in together. Well done Glossybox! There were four designs to collect this month, I got the blue one but they're all lovely I think!

Lord & Berry Lipstick Pencil in Kiss - Full Size £10
This was the first product I saw and is described as the 'perfect Marilyn red'. I've never owned a pencil style lipstick and I really like the concept, you can line your lips and fill them in all at once! This is such a lovely vibrant colour, I can imagine wearing this in the summer. I have been lightly dabbing this onto my lips and blending it out so its a bit lighter then adding gloss on top and I've been loving the colour. This is pretty long lasting too and doesn't dry out the lips as the pencil is creamy and soft.

Astral Original Face and Body Moisturiser - Full Size £3.89
I opened this up and saw the bright white creamy formula. It smells like a nicer version of Sudocrem, but isn't as thick. Apparently this has been a firm favourite with Hollywood Stars since the 1950's. This can also be used to remove makeup. I have smeared this on my face and then wiped off with cotton pads and it does seem to get everything off  and I do love a multi-purpose cream. I'm not sure I would repurchase this but I definitely enjoyed using it for a change to my usual lotion.

Pop Beauty Kajal Eyeliner Pen - Full Size £6.50
This pencil is nice and great for creating the iconic cat eye look. One end has a smudger for a smokey eye look. This transfers on the waterline as a sooty grey colour but is buildable to create a darker look. The pencil is soft and glides on nicely without dragging the skin. I can't personally use pencils on my upper lash line as I always seem to make a mess but for a smokey eye this works really well.

Color Club Barely There Nail Polish - Full Size £4.10
I love nude nails, especially as I'm not really supposed to wear nail varnish in my job so a nude nail is virtually undetectable but still makes me feel like I've put the effort in. It's also a colour which compliments any skin tone. I put 2 coats of this on and a topcoat and the colour lasted quite well which was nice.

IDC Body Lotion - Full Size £3.59
This lavender body lotion is actually really nice and I am glad I received this one as I'm not the biggest fan of rose scented things. This absorbs into the skin quickly and leaves my skin soft and hydrated and the smell lingers for a few hours after. The scent really reminds me of summer and the smell of my skin afterwards reminds me of being on the beach! I don't know why! I think I would buy this again as it's pretty good value and a lovely product.

Please let me know what you got in your boxes, I love reading other people's Glossybox reviews!

Younique 3D Fiber Lash Mascara Review*

I recently got hold of the Younique 3D Fiber Lash Mascara and couldn’t wait to tell you all about it!

Firstly, how gorgeous is the packaging? The mascara comes in this lovely sturdy box and just looks so nice.

The kit consists of 2 pieces. Firstly the Transplanting Gel which looks like a normal mascara wand. After applying a normal mascara to my eyelashes, I then use this want to add a layer of the gel onto my lashes ready for stage 2.

The second part is to apply the Natural Fibers to your lashes. This brush is simply a wand with fibers stuck to it. After applying these, I then add another layer of the Transplanting gel, and blast my eyelashes with a hairdryer to remove excess fibers and to set them in place.

Here are my eyelashes with one layer of normal mascara, one layer of Younique Fiber Lash and then a second layer of the fiber lash.

I’ll be honest, I can’t really see much difference between the Younique mascara and my own, and this is a lot more expensive. I found that throughout the day I had fibers on my face, and when I brushed them off I was left with black smears on my cheeks.

You can purchase this mascara direct from here in the UK from November 1st for just $23.00 (excluding p+p) .
