June 2016 Glossybox

I have been receiving my Glossybox for over 5 years now, I cannot believe how crazy that is and how many products I have received in that time. Nevertheless, the excitement every month is still there and that is what keeps me coming back time and time again. This month’s box had a summer vibe to it and contained things that I will definitely be using this summer. We also received a bonus item which was good, read on for my full review.

Konjac Sponge – Full Size £6.99
I have seen these sponges around and I wanted to try one for a while now. These sponges are the latest trend in Japan and are made from the natural fibres of the konjac vegetable. These sponges are known for their ability to hold water and can buff your skin beautifully. The sponge is more gently than a scrub but left my skin feeling very smooth. The texture feels like rubber. You need to hang this sponge up to dry to keep it fresh which is my only annoyance as I can’t take it to the gym but I really like what this has done for me so far. I would definitely repurchase these if I saw them in a store.

Ladival – Sun Protection Spray – Full Size £19.99
After receiving a sun protection oil last month I was initially disappointed to see another one in the box, especially as it has the same SPF. It would have been nicer to perhaps receive a higher SPF so I had  range to try out. That being said I really do like this product. The lotion sprays on so applies easily and really sinks into the skin which I like. This isn’t necessarily a product I would pick up in store as the packaging doesn’t appeal to me but I would definitely buy this again. The Ladival spray provides protection against four types of UV rays which most sunscreens don’t do. It’s also water resistant and free from perfume so works really well with my eczema. It’s great to feel that I’m really protected when wearing this.

De Bruyere – After Sun Lotion – Full Size £9.48
After sun is something I definitely like to use in the summer to keep my skin hydrated and avoid any peeling if I get sunburnt. I love the packaging of this product, it’s so pretty compared to well-known brands. The first thing I noticed when I went to use this was the smell due to the coconut oil properties. It smells like Malibu cocktails and summer all rolled into one – it’s absolutely gorgeous! It is also totally paraben and silicone free too, so you know you aren’t putting anything harmful onto your skin. I haven’t been lucky enough to get much sun this year (thank you England!) but when I do, this is going to be one of my summer staples.

Origins – GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream – Full Size £20
This is quite a small sized sample and I’m not sure if there was enough to really notice any differences when trialling this cream. This gel like formula aims to instantly reduce dark circles and puffiness under the eyes. You simply dab this around the eye area in the morning.

Emite Make Up – Lip & Cheek Tint – Full Size £12.50
I found this a bit daunting when I opened it as it’s a deep red colour and I pictured myself looking like a clown but then I saw Kim wearing it and it looked really nice and subtle. The trick is to only apply a few drops when wearing this on the cheeks and then blending it out. It gives a lovely pink glow and once I got the hang of not putting too much on I really liked the result. This is such a large product as well it is going to last ages.

Aussie Hair Care – Deep Conditioner – Full Size £1.09
This sachet was a bonus product this month. I do love a deep conditioner as they always make my hair feel really soft and I like to save these for special occasions. I haven’t used this yet as I am saving it for when my hair starts to feel dry again but this was a welcomed addition to this month’s box.

They also provided a sneak peek for July, we will be receiving a night tanner, I am excited to try this out! What did you get in your Glossybox this month? If you’d like to sign up for Glossybox, click here.

November 2015 Glossybox

I was pretty excited for this month’s box, especially as I had enough Glossydots to get a free one so I didn’t have to pay this month thanks to my friend Kim using my referral code. Always a bonus. This month’s box contained 3 full sized items and 2 travel sized items which I think is all you need to get ready for a night out on the town. Just what I needed in time for party season!

November 2015 Glossybox Review

MUA – Eyeshadow Palette – Full Size £4
I received this MUA eyeshadow palette in Undressed which is a well-known dupe for one of the Urban Decay Naked Palettes. I already have this palette so I will probably donate this to my sister who I know will love it. The palette is packed with neutral shades in matte and shimmer. MUA palettes are really reliable and I find they give a great colour pay off and last all day. I have most of the MUA palettes and this one is definitely one of my favourites. If you’d like 20% off everything in store, head over to the MUA website and enter code MUAGLOSSY at the checkout (expires 31.12.15).

Royal Apothic – Body Lotion – Full Size £14.50
This Royal Apothic body lotion came in some beautiful vintage packaging and I can’t get enough of it. Massage this lotion into damp skin after showering and it goes on so smooth and sinks in really nicely. It has a really nice scent to it as well which lingers on the skin for hours afterwards. The smell is fresh and not overpowering. The handy travel sized tube we received is perfect for popping in your wash bag or taking away with you when you go away for the weekend.

Eylure – Natural Lashes – Full Size £5
I used to wear false lashes a lot when I went out and Eylure was always my go-to brand. Having not worn them for ages, I was delighted to see a natural looking pair in my Glossybox to ease my transition back into wearing them. These lashes apply really easily and I love the glue that comes with them as it keeps them on all night. I can’t wait to wear these to upcoming parties, they’re subtle enough that they aren’t noticeable but give a great volume and boost to my eyelashes. To received 25% off your next purchase at Eylure use code glossy25 at the checkout (expires 30.11.15)

Emite – Diamond Heart Primer – Full Size £25.90
Another travel sized item, this Emite primer aims to balance skin tone, boost radiance and give a smooth finish. I didn’t expect it to have a colour to it when I first tried it, but this went onto the skin leaving no obvious signs that you’ve put it there. This did leave my face feeling soft but did no better job than my go to primer so this is not something I would repurchase.

Revlon – Super Lustrous Lipstick – Full Size £7.99
This Revlon Lipstick  is the item I thought we were able to choose, however I don’t recall receiving any correspondence allowing me to pick a shade. I received the colour Black Cherry which I was very happy with because I don’t have any other colours like this. I really like how this goes on, however it tends to cling to any dry patches so make sure your lips are hydrated before applying this. I’m on the lookout for a matching lip-liner if anyone has any suggestions? Kim over at Romanov’s Views suggested a MAC one which is a great shout. Boots have 3 for 2 on all Revlon products in store and online until 25.11.15 if you would like to check out the other colours in the range.

Next month’s box has been guest edited by beauty blogger Really Ree to bring us a Rose Gold collectors box for the festive season. It’s going to be a good one, I can feel it already!

August 2015 Glossybox

Last month's Glossybox was a good'n so I had high expectations for this month's box which arrived a couple of weeks ago. I've had time to go through my box and let you know what I think of all the products. This month's box celebrates the fact Glossybox are now available in ten countries.

I'm pretty happy with the box, I just wish we could have experienced some different brands rather than ones that have been featured in the box this year already.

Emite Artist Colour Powder Blush – Full Size £20.59
This blush/bronzer hybrid was voted by us. When swatching this product it crumbled away and I was worried that I would pick too much up on my brush. I found that swirling my brush onto the product and tapping off the excess left just the right amount of product to sweep across my cheeks and leave a nice glow. This product definitely looks good for summer makeup as it does give you that summer glow and light contour. There is no way I would pay over £20 for this though, I am sure there are a lot cheaper alternatives on the highstreet that do as good a job.

Naobay Calming Face Toner – Full Size £10.65
I’ve reviewed a Naobay product on my blog before which I also received from Glossybox. I love the packaging on these products and the wooden lid makes them feel really luxurious. What I love about this toner is that it doesn’t have much of a scent as I am not a fan of highly perfumed toners. This removes trace makeup when applied with a cotton pad and is 99.13% natural so I am happy using this on my face every day.

SASS Purifying Cleanser – Full Size £7.00
This is the second SASS product I have received from Glossybox and not a product I have ever thought to buy. This intimate cleanser aims to balance your skins PH levels. I can’t say I’ve noticed much of a difference but it is nice to feel fresh ‘down there’ if you know what I mean.

MeMeMe Lipglide in Playful Peach – Full Size £6.95
When I first saw this lipglide I thought it was going to be a bit bright for me, but the colour pay off on the lips is really nice and subtle. This product is hydrating but it doesn’t last long on the lips especially when eating soon after applying this. It is a lovely colour and a great addition to any handbag.

Manna Kadar Lash Primer – Full Size £14.55
I love this product. I have never owned a lash primer before and this fulfils everything that I would want in a lash primer. Manna Kada is not a brand I have ever heard of before. I’ve been layering this under my normal mascara and I’ve found my lashes feel hydrated. I am no longer left with black dried mascara flecks under my eyes which is a bonus for me. This primer contains vitamin B12 which leaves your lashes conditioned and voluminous and I can vouch that this product does just that.
