The Sheringham Trawler

As some of you may have seen a few months ago I went to Sheringham for a day out. Sheringham isn't that far from where I live and is lovely just for a potter around on a Sunday.

I recently went back to Sheringham for a wander around the shops and true to my lifestyle, I couldn't leave without sampling some chip shop chips!

The Sheringham Trawler

We decided to go to The Sheringham Trawler which was on the high street. There was 6 of us so we decided to eat in the restaurant rather than take away and find somewhere for us all to sit. The outside of the restaurant looked like a boat, and the interior was decorated with a nautical theme.

I went for the simple battered sausage and chips which cost just £3.80. The portions were plentiful and served piping hot. My chips were really nice, cooked to perfection. The sausage was also delicious. Food was served reasonably quickly and the staff were friendly.

There are also vegetarian and gluten free options available.

Babygrow Cupcakes - Baby Shower Gift.

I was recently invited to a baby shower and for those of you that know me well, you will know that I am the least maternal person ever. Unless it involves cats. I'll be a cat mumma all day long. Anyway, it dawned on me that I have never been to a baby shower before. What on earth kind of gift would I need to bring? Babies don't drink wine do they?

I scoured Pinterest and Youtube for ideas and came across many variations of these onesie/babygrow cupcakes and thought they would be the perfect gift.

Babygrow Cupcake tutorial

These were so easy to do. I bought a cupcake box, some liners and some ribbons for the packaging. To make the 'cupcakes' you will need 4 babygrows (I used 3-6 months) and 4 baby socks. I actually bought a 4 pack of socks, and wrapped the odds up separately for the mum to keep aside.

To make these, simply roll the babygrow length-ways, and place the sock on top as seen in the photos below.

Then roll the baby grow into a spiral around the sock so you are left with something like this. I then rolled the top end of the sock over the rolled up babygrow to replicate a cupcake case. I tried to use contrasting sock colours so they stood out.

When you have rolled all four 'cupcakes', pop them into some clean cupcake liners and display in the cupcake box.

I then wrapped some ribbon around the box and popped into a gift bag. I think these are a really cute idea and shows you have put some effort into your gift. I have seen things like this for sale online in excess of £20! When you see how simple these are to make, and how cost effective they can be I am sure you will want to make your own for that personal touch.

I think baby girl clothes would also look so cute wrapped up like this. They're almost good enough to eat!

July 2015 Glossybox

Another month has passed and it's Glossybox time again! This month's box has a French theme to it and I absolutely love the box designed by Jamie Lee Reardin. The box contains 4 French skin care items which you may be familiar with and a cute little bag to pop them all in.

July 2015 Glossybox

Noxidoxi Enhancing Serum Base - Full Size £33.46
This was the first item that I tried underneath my moisturiser as suggested. I love that this doesn't really have a scent as I'm not a fan of using scented products on my face. It's supposed to moisturise the deeper layers of your skin but if I'm honest I am yet to see any drastic improvements.

Noxidoxi Enhancing Serum Base

Lollipops Lip Balm - Full Size £4.15
This tastes delicious, like candy floss and sweets all rolled into this little tube. I don't tend to use lip balms very often but this is a great handbag essential. I own an eyeliner from this range, also from Glossybox. I love that this protects lips from U.V damage, perfect for the weather we have been having lately.

Lollipops Lip Balm

Teoxane Cosmeceuticals Perfect Skin Refiner - Full Size £70
I've never heard of this brand before, and the full sized version of this item is way out of my price range. I was a bit weary of trying this as I have had bad experiences in the past with acid peels. This states that you may experience some tingling but I didn't notice this. This feels really warm when rubbed into the skin and I love how soft my skin felt after using this.

Teoxane Cosmeceuticals

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Cream - Full Size £31
I have received a few Vichy products in the past from previous Glossyboxes so I was excited to try this out. This cream is lightweight and lightly scented. It is very cooling on the skin and left me feeling refreshed and hydrated. I popped this on under my foundation and it left my soft and kept my make up in place.

Vichy

Glossybox Exclusive Travel Pouch - £3.99
The products all came in this little clear make-up bag with super cute design by fashion illustrator Jamie Lee Reardin. It's a bit small for every day use, but can see this being a great little pouch to take on holiday or pop in your handbag.

Africa Alive!

Quite a while ago now I visited Africa Alive with my friends Sabrina and Hannah and I have only just got around to putting together the photos I took during the day out.

Africa Alive Suffolk

Africa Alive is a walking safari set across 100 acres in Lowestoft, Suffolk and is roughly 40 minutes away from where I live so not too far to travel for a day out.

My favourite part of Africa Alive was the ring tailed lemur exhibit. You can walk around with them, and Sabrina was pounced on multiple times which had me in fits of giggles. I managed to catch this on camera, you've been framed anyone?

There are so many animals here ranging from Meerkats to Guinea Pigs! I had a reallly fun day out and felt like I had walked miles by the end of the day. I am thankful we had nice weather for it.

Adult tickets cost £16.35 each when ordered online here.

Hollywood - Travel Diary

I was lucky enough to spend my birthday last year in Los Angeles and a visit to Hollywood and I thought I would share some photos of the places that I got to see whilst I was in California.

We wanted to walk as close as we could get to the Hollywood sign but unfortunately the day we decided to do it, the trail was closed and we were unable to get as close as we would have liked and our best view was from the Griffith Observatory. We went on a little hike around that area which was very tiring in the extreme heats (compared to England!) but it was a nice walk.

Hollywood

We then decided to hit Hollywood Boulevard and check out the walk of fame. I enjoyed walking along this route. There was also some nice shops for us to look in. We also went to The Chinese Theatre and had a look at the outside and the hand/foot prints on the floor. It was so busy here.

Hollywood

The best thing we did in Hollywood was go on a little tour of the Hollywood Hills. Our driver was great, he took us around the celebrity houses and up high so we got a great view over the city.

Apparently this is Jason Statham's House, whether he lives there still or not I don't know. All I know is it is worth a LOT of money. Not bad for a local Norfolk lad is it, haha. We also got to see a number of celebrity houses including Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Jackson, The Osborne's, Christina Aguilera and many more Hollywood stars.

Hollywood

We then headed down Rodeo Drive. I couldn't resist taking a photo of this insanely expensive Bugatti, owned by the late designer Bijan Pakzad parked outside House of Bijan boutique - rumoured to be the most expensive store in the world. Needless to say, I did not go inside!

Bugatti

The large building at the end of this photo is the hotel used in the film Pretty Woman when Richard Gere hires out the penthouse suite. I bet that wasn't cheap!

Recognise this hotel? It's the one also used in the film Pretty Woman. You may remember the scene at the end where Richard Gere climbs the fire escape to retrieve Julia Roberts. That was filmed here!

Pretty Woman Hotel

I had a great time in Hollywood. There was so much to do, I wish we had more time to spend there.
I'll be honest it was nothing like what I expected. There were areas that were rather run down and a lot of homeless people around. You don't see this sort of thing on movies but I guess that's real life.

Have you been to Hollywood?

Sudio Klang Earphones Review* #SudioMoments

I recently had the chance to try out some new earphones and as a big lover of my over the ear beats, I was looking for something smaller that would be suitable to take to the gym. I was sent these Sudio Klang Headphones in white from Sudio Sweden. They cost just €55 which is around £40 and shipping is free worldwide.

I was really impressed with the sturdy packaging that the Sudio Klang Earphones arrived in. The box comes complete with the headphones, a manual, a leather carry case, metal clip and extra ear buds.

The Sudio Klang Headphones come with a full-feature 3 button remote which is perfect for changing your songs on the go without having to do it through your phone. These headphones are great with my iPhone and iPod as the remote system is designed for iOS and the sound is fantastic.

I couldn't wait to test out the Stay-in-ear feature as my usual headphones are always falling out. I took these to the gym and went for a run on the treadmill and these really did stay in, and the music quality was still really crisp and clear. I love that one cord is longer than the other. The longer cord lays on your neck supporting the earphones and preventing them from being pulled out.

The headphone cable is flat and this has not tangled which is amazing, especially as I tend to throw my headphones into the bottom of my gym bag. I have been making the effort to use the leather case provided with these to keep them safe.

The Sudio Klang Earphones also come in black, brown and orange so you can choose which colour suits you best. I think these are really stylish and elegant and I feel good about being seen wearing these.

If you'd like a pair of these headphones, feel free to use my code Christie15 for 15% off. Once again, shipping is free worldwide. Please visit the Sudio website and check out these headphones! Postage was really quick considering these are from Sweden!

*I received these Sudio Klang Headphones free of charge in exchange for a review. I was not influenced in any way and all opinions are my own. Please see my disclaimer for more information.
